END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
Your license. Yours to own.
Last updated June 15, 2026 · Draft — under review
The deal in one line
This End-User License Agreement (the "License") is the agreement between you and TRU (TruSynth Inc.) [⚠ confirm legal entity + jurisdiction] for the SynthOS macOS application (the "App"). In plain terms: we license the App to you to run on your own Mac; you keep ownership of everything you make with it; and the App is provided as-is. Installing or using the App means you accept this License. If you don't accept it, don't install the App.
Your license to use SynthOS
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and run the App on Mac computers you own or control, for your own use or your organization's internal use. The App requires macOS 15 or later on Apple silicon.
Your right to use the App is tied to an active SynthOS account and, for paid capabilities, an active subscription as described in our Terms of Service at /terms. This License covers the software; the Terms cover your account and billing.
What you own
You own your work. The vault, files, run history, notes, and anything your agents produce stay on your Mac and belong to you — SynthOS being local-first means we don't hold or claim them. This License gives us no ownership of, and no license to, your content.
We own the App. TRU and its licensors retain all rights to the SynthOS software, its name, logo, and design. This License doesn't transfer any of those rights to you beyond the right to use the App as described here.
Bring your own key
SynthOS is built to run on your own AI provider key. When you bring your own key, the AI usage is billed by that provider under your agreement with them — that bill is between you and them, and we never add a markup to it. You're responsible for keeping your keys secure and for staying within your providers' terms.
What you may not do
Within the limits of applicable law, you agree not to: (a) copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the App; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the narrow extent the law expressly allows and we can't override; (c) remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or license notices; (d) circumvent license checks, account limits, or spend ceilings; or (e) use the App to break the law, harm others, or violate the terms of the AI providers and services you connect to it.
You are responsible for the work your agents do at your direction. SynthOS asks before anything risky and keeps a local receipt for every action — but the decisions, and their consequences, are yours.
Early-access software
SynthOS is currently distributed as an early-access / private-beta build. Early-access builds change quickly, may have rough edges, and may add, change, or remove features between updates. That is what early access means. The Forge and any features we label "coming" are not yet shipped and are not licensed to you until they are released.
Updates we provide become part of the App and are covered by this License unless an update comes with its own terms.
No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," to the maximum extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent the law allows. You run the App, and the agents you direct with it, at your own discretion and risk. Nothing here removes warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limit of our liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TRU is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits, or AI-provider charges arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in this License limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending this license
This License lasts until it ends. It ends automatically if you breach it; you can end it any time by uninstalling the App and closing your account. We may suspend or end your license if you seriously or repeatedly breach this License or the Terms — and, where it's fair to do so, we'll give you notice and a chance to fix it first.
When the License ends, your right to run the App ends and you should delete it. Because SynthOS is local-first, the work it already made stays on your Mac as files you own — ending the license doesn't reach into your machine and take it away. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, no-warranty, liability, governing law) survive termination.
Governing law
This License is governed by the laws of [⚠ governing law + venue placeholder — confirm with George: likely the State of Delaware, USA, or TruSynth Inc.'s jurisdiction of incorporation], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence still apply and are not waived by this clause.
Changes & contact
If we change this License in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the App before the change takes effect, and continued use after that means you accept the updated License. Questions about the license: [email protected].
